Axiom : A statement or proposition which is regarded as being established, accepted or self-evidently true. It is a strongly held axiom that if you do the same thing with the same inputs, you can expect the same outputs.
Aphorism : A pithy observation that contains a general truth, such as “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!” He lives his life spewing his aphorisms, and yet he does not live by the maxims, often trying to fix non problems.
