Well got into the wine last night and someone was kind enough to bring me over two bottles. They were OPEN Wines (Cab merlot) and Sibling Rivalry Red which I didn’t realize is from Henry of Pelham which make a white Chard I love. Anyhow I started with the OPEN and absolutly loved this one from the first sip. Now let me reiterate the fact that I am not a wine connoisseur this is my layperson interpretation of what I tasted. I smelt it and it smelt good, I tasted it and it tasted great. Well in all seriousness, it had a very strong bouquet and I’m not great at describing those and should probably enrol in a wine course or make my way down to a few places in NOTL to get some information or possibly watch Sideways one more time. The bouquet was very blackberry-esque, easy enough on the nose to keep me interested and even want to sit there and continue inhaling to see what else I might realize about it. I can’t really describe tasts, all I can say was that it was very good not to strong but it wouldn’t be there is merlot in it. I absolutly loved this wine and realized I loved it even more after opening the Sibling Rivalry. The sibling rivalry had a nice bouquet also, not to strong but with the first taste I still had the OPEN on the pallet and it just seemed flatter. Not as much texture. It would have reminded me of watering down my childrens grape juice. It was good, don’t get me wrong but I prefered the OPEN.

Productive Day :: Merrits some Merlot
Well couple hard workouts and good eating with lots of salad, Vietnamese springrolls (yes I made them) and also some homemade veggi burgers with lentils. I love this Little Penguin Merlot. Very smooth taste and for the price ($12) where can you go wrong. I’ve really got to lay off the beer as I’m unable to run the way I would like to be running right now. Good cardio sessions but it’s not like running. Get the girls tomorrow and go visiting. Planning a whole week of activities, I will take lots of pics. Here are some of the possibilities, Riverdale Farm, Niagara Gorge, Butterfly Conservatory, Donkey Sanctuary (Guelph), a bridge in Guelph, Valens and maybe hit Value Village find some Old Tea set and have a tea party (that was actually my ideal) hahahaha.
Wine :: Barefoot
Well I think I need to take a little wine course so I could properly describe wines as I do like to try new ones all the time (I’m a red fan by the way). Yesterday I had this nice Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Barefoot. It was amazing, great auroma, amazing taste and pleasant aftertaste. Now if I new more about what it was I was tasting I would tell you it tastes of this, of that, berries, carmel etc. In reality I haven’t, don’t know how and I think it will be a task of mine this summer to better inform myself.
