Well another hour tonight, the leg is starting to feel really good. Burned off more than 1000 calories again. This was especially rewarding as it was third day in a row and second day at an hour. My leg felt great. I think I’ll be able to start running as soon as end of next week. Tomorrow is going to be a layoff day for the cardio, we’ll do a workout instead. Anyhow I’m in very good spirits as I can feel myself healing. Just really anxious to see what running brings with it.

Ottawa Tomorrow :: Quick workout tonight
Well quick workout tonight and off to bed. Some elliptical and that’s about it. I’m off to Ottawa for work tomorrow for the day. Have to go to a school board for the day and see how an application works, the coding and the back end DB. Going with Fred from work. Fred will be doing the code moidification for the application and I’ll be handling the DB back end. Enough geek speak, the site isn’t really about that part of my life (not for the moment anyhow). See if I can get some shots of Rideau Canal while I’m there. Will bring my camera and take a few quick pics of Fred and I while were there. There won’t be much time, flight is 7 am. Arrive some time after 8am. The meeting is at 10 am (should have some time for breakie) and finishes around 3pm then our flight home is at 7:30 pm. Might have time for a quick supper in the market (I hope), some fish and chips — Yes I know that’s horrible after a week of training. Anyhow I’ll post the pics and let you know how it went. I wish it was warmer I would have loved to go for a quick run after the meeting.
Disney Marathon and Half Marathon Photos
Well the Disney Marathon Photos http://asiorders.com/view_event.asp?EVENTID=25142 and Half Marathon Photos http://asiorders.com/view_event.asp?EVENTID=25145 have arrived. I ordered them last year and they were great. Way better than they were on their site. This is a not a plug for ASI Orders, I am not getting free prints by you going there, I’m just letting you all know. I hope all those that ran had a great time, I know I did. My wounds are recoverying and I’m hoping to be back running next week. I’m hoping to run Toronto Marathon, Hamilton’s Around the Bay, the Niagara Half again and possibly the Ottawa Marathon. You’ll have to check back to see how my training is going and how I’m healing up.
TRY AGAIN THIS WEEK
Well I’ve taken a few days off. Try and get some recovery in. This will surly be a difficult marathon, let alone the fact I’m doing the goofy. My shin splints are just about gone but I’ve only got 4 weeks till the marathon and the taper should be starting next week. This week I’ll do pool running again, plus eliptical. I just have to try and keep the cardio up. Had a party this weekend and ate and drank in excess. Have to recover from that. As well we have had a major snow storm today as you can see from the picture.
WOW MOOBS

Well here is what a person looks like before they start running and getting in shape. This is a pic of me 10 years ago. I wouldn’t normally embarrass myself but it’s to show the before and after. I got into running a few years ago to shed some weight for kite boarding. The kite boarding didn’t last long but the running took over and I’ve been doing it ever since. It has helped me get in shape, stay that way and also relax. I find that after runs I feel so much more at peace.

DISNEY MARATHON WEEKEND :: 88 DAYS TO GO
Well there are 88 days left before marathon weekend. Yoopie. My training is off an on. It would be on 100% if I didn’t still have these nags, sore shins etc. Need to book my flight and I hate the though of the tickets, race already booked etc and being injured. I’ve slowed my pace down a bit and am doing more stretches through the day hoping it’s just that. I’m going to be going with my friend Paul Preston who I introduced to running last year after he came down to watch me run the Disney Marathon last year. He just did his first half marathon this past weekend in Toronto and is roaring and ready for the Disney Half this winter. Baring any further injury 88 days from now we’ll be in the heat (better be warm), the sun (better be sunny) and at the starting line (my legs better hold out!).
