Running Log :: Pace

Had to do my 8 mile run at pace and my Boston Pace is 7:27. I did a hilly run with a hill at two loops and the two miles back. Just looking at the results and my pace in the end is the 7:27. Woohoo.. Started out a bit strong so I was a bit tired the last few miles, plus the sun and dehydration. Can’t complain though, I did it.

Running Log :: Humid

This was humid. Check out the weather charts for this run. It’s now about 45 min after my run and I’m still sweating. I can’t believe how muggy it was. I would have thought the rain would have helped it a bit but I could actually see the moisture rising as I was running along King St.. This was a new running path for me but I loved running along Lawrence. I didn’t realize it came out near Mount Albion and King. I ran up to Quigley where I used to live.

Running Log :: feels like 104

Well went for my run just after noon on a day like today, what was I thinking. I hate treadmills and just wanted to run outside. I figured I’d do the Chedoke Trail up and down the mountain. Man it’s 31 out and feels like 39 (Humidex). Anyhow I figured  I wouldn’t be running long so get out and just do it. Anyhow 30 minutes later and I’m still drinking lots of water. It was Hot to say the least.

Running Log :: Very tired and crazy hot

Well woke up later than I wanted to for my run today. Was hoping to be out by 7am so it would still be cool. I ended up heading out around 8:30 and it was already getting hot. They are calling for record heats. There is a heat and smog advisory. It’s only noon and it’s 27 and feels like 33 with humidity. This is going to be insane. Anyhow my alergies were in full swing when I headed out and I decided to so the Rail Trail. The uphill was just killing me. I’m actually happy with my running time and looking forward to some serious training for the ramainder of my weeks. Hit the grocery store this morning for some fruits, chocolat milk, yogourt and ground turkey. Time to get serious people.

Running Log :: New Shoes

Well I just couldn’t take the pain I find myself in every time I have been wearing my new Saucony Triumphs and they are still on the same model at the running room so didn’t want to take a chance and therefore Mizuno’s. I always loved my Waveriders when I had them so picked up a pair of them. Once this pressure point pain goes away I’ll try the Saucony’s again because they only have 89 miles on them. Anyhow I forgot how much I love the waverider. These shoes rock. I went for a 3 miler at the AAA track and it was great.

Running Log :: Oh Canada Eh!

Well went to get my 7 miler in and notice a Canada Day Festival going on in Gage park. Today I’m going to be trying to finish the house so no party for me. I’m going to have to bring these shoes back tomorrow. The pain in the right foot is 100% related to the shoes. I put the new ones back on today for the run and my foot was in pain from mile 2 onward. Anyhow was a good training run.

Well after a concert and little sleep two nights in a row this run was quite tiring. At least I got through it. Tomorrow 7 miler so make sure I get some sleep tonight.

Running Log :: hung over

Well there is no better way to work through a hangover than a run. So at 6:30 am I laced up the shoes and made my way to the street to do 14 miles. I actually did it and felt awesome after. Anyhow I kept the pace slow to make sure not to injure myself, this is recovery running. Did 14 miles in 1:57:19 for an average pace of 8:25 minute miles.

Running Log :: Horrible Pain

Well I moved my Sunday run to Monday to try and get a bit more recovery in. It really didn’t seem to help much. I even ran at a much slower pace running with Anne. I will tell you the Mandarin Buffet didn’t help any. Anyhow I’m going to have to do elliptical this week and see if it will help me stay strong and recover from this issue. If it doesn’t have to have it assessed and see where to go from here. I’m also fighting some bug and was hoping the run would help. I woke with ear aches and a sore throat.

Running Log :: Sore Shin

Well my right shin is absolutly killing me. I tried to tape it properly but the tape came off around mile 1.5. It seems to have been working well up to that point but after it came off it was all down hill. I’ve got a rest day tomorrow but if it seems to still be painful Saturday I’ll lay up that day also and would even consider Sunday and Monday as rest days. We’ll have to play it by ear. Anyhow the stats tell the story.
