Amazing Day :: Beach

What a beautiful day out… I had to take the girls down to Confederation Park before gymnastics for some fun in the sun. The sun was shining and no need for hats and mittens. We played around the water, on the snow and even has some Hot Dogs and fries at Hutches which came with two songs in the Jukebox. Anyhow we had an awesome time and spend about an hour and a half just playing and skipping rocks. One of the twins never told me she got a soaker, that must have been cold!

Stairs and Locke Street

Well the girls wanted to go do the stairs before Airlies Bday party that she had to go to so we the the Stairs at Dundurn and walked around Locke Street a bit after I dropped off my library book. We had a great time and it was great physio for the ankle. My ankle was very tired and sore after just one up and down. Then the girls did a quick walk up the trail. It was still snow and ice covered so I couldn’t do it. I almost slipped right away and that would really be dangerous for the ankle…

Foot healing

Well the foot is healing,  I can weight bear on it so that is sooo positive.. I’m thinking 4 weeks at this point. Just wonder if the bone flake floating around would cause a problem… Anyhow the swelling isn’t bad if I stay off it and keep it up and ice frequently. I think the pool was a great help. Was going to go today or tonight to the gym but my beer on tap and a gold medal game, not going to happen!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Well not much to write for Valentine’s Day so I figured I’d just put a bunch of pics up and let them speak for the day. It truly doesn’t matter and to be honest even in marriage it wasn’t much cause for celebration.

Running Log :: Fergus to Elora

Well went out for a run with Paul to work off all the beer and pizza we consumed last night. We headed for a run and eventually I hear Paul say that Elora is just down the road from where we were so said well lets run there. Was an awesome run and the pictures say it all. It was around 13Km and well over an hour but stopped to take lots of pictures along the way.

Beer Day :: 3 weeks already

Well it was three weeks today and so I went to pick up my brew. I put 19L in a keg and the rest in bottles. I’m going to get the stuff I require next week to set up the kegging system. I can’t believe how great this Irish style beer tasts. Matty outdid himself with this one. I can’t wait till I’m proficient enough to start playing with the recipies a bit…

Well a friend found  a picture in SteetView of him riding his bike down a road training and I though, hey I remember the google car beside me. So I got onto Google StreetView and voilà, ma voiture (my car). It has the RonJon Sticker in the back window.

Les Trois Accords :: Magog

What a crazy day. I would have to say it was just a continuation of yesterday. There was lots of wine last night around the dinner table in Mercier. At around 1am we were advised it was a great time to head to the arena to do some skating and play some hockey. Played around on the ice with some French learning to skate and and Equatorian who actually wasn’t bad on the blades. Time for bed around 3 am only to wake up at 8 and make my way to Mont Saint Sauveur to do some snowboarding and have a few beers. After the snowboarding time to make our way to Mercier to pick up a French couple and head down to the Fête des Neiges de Magog to see Les Trois Accords. What a concert, it was great inside the little tent. Managed to arrive in time to see the Fireworks. Great couple days in Quebec.

Running Log :: Crazy Canadians

People have serious problems in the country when it comes to ice. What the hell are people doing out on the ice when you can see the water all around. I saw ice fishers but the seemed a bit more prepared than the adult who had a bunch of kids all out on the ice skating and there are visible openings on the ice. Check out my pictures and you can see all the open water and there is one adult and a bunch of kids all skating around in very deep waters far from shore. I don’t get it! Anyhow had a great run and took frequent breaks to take pictures along the way because last time I didn’t bring it and there was some good scenery. One thing I forgot to photograph was the trail I ran through about half way into my run. Anyhow great run and I just loved it.
