Novel :: Twilight (I sparkle)

Ok so I finaly get the sparkle thing. I’m sure in a few years this will help me answer some Trivial Pursuit questions or something. I have 4 daughters one of whom is the required age for Twilight Reading. No for those of you that are my age I’m not talking about the Twilight Zone. I’m talking about Twilight the Novel. You know Team Edward. Well I haven’t read New Moon yet so can’t say if I’m team Edward yet. Oh just the fact that I can make that joke and get it is scarry. Anyhow I finished the novel finaly after much delay. I’ve put it down and picked it up a few time and Christmas got in the way as well as the ongoing drama that is Separation and Divorce. Anyhow I picked it up again the other day and what did it ever get going. It’s a teen romance novel till it gets to the fight scene. There is Bella and Edward the main characters. Now did the author give her that name after the most famous vampires in history, Bela Lugosi? Anyhow just a question, sure if I google it I’ll find out. Anyhow it’s a typical love story, girl meets vampire, girl loves vampire does girl marry vampire? Well it’s a good read and the goal was to better understand my daughters age, culture and what they are up to. I did enjoy the novel, easy read, fast enough paced, lots of action and trouble that Bella can get into. Edward is the Vampire asĀ  James Dean was to Rebel without a Cause! Cool, collected, thin quiet and the god of high school. Anyhow I really enjoyed the book and it was easy to read but the fight scene in Chapter 22 I think it was like the fight scene in True Romance. I couldn’t put it down from that point on. It finished like a teen novel with prom and all but at least the writer made some references to a great Stephen King Novel (Carrie). I’ve just picked up Dear John as my next book but after that will surely end up reading New Moon.

    I’ve resisted for so long, but I think I must finally succumb to Twilight mania and at least give the first and second film a one-time viewing. If only to keep up with conversations. I’m still befuddled over the whole “sparkling” idea. I like the vampire images.
