Some fun pics from the party. Had such a great time and having been able to go running half a marathon the next morning at 7am was incredible.

Running Log :: A half marathon?
Well after a great night of drinking, jello shooters and almost no sleep I headed out for my run just after 7am. I was at the Drop Zone (www.skydiveburnaby.com) and headed towards Port Colborne along the lake. I had no idea how far I’d be able to run but was hoping for close to a half marathon. Was an incredible morning and an amazing run. I ran all the way into Port Colborne and ran 13.1 miles (21km) in 1:49. There were 4 one minute walks in there. Felt absolutely great and if there was a hangover this morning it was gone by the time I was done. I’m writing this at the end of the day and must say my legs feel great.
Running Log :: Chedoke trail brrr
Well what a difference in temperature today. Was really trying to decide if I was in the mood to go out and the answer was no, not really in the mood to do anything. Miss the kids, tired from a hard week at work and just not much motivation. Well that is just more the reason to get out there and run, clear the head. Anyhow I ran over 5 miles, GPS stopped after about a mile so had to reset and ran another 5 miles after resetting in 40 min so ran somewhere around 47 minutes. Was a great run, was getting dark when I headed back and you could see Hamilton lighting up from the top of the trail. Mood was much better upon my return. Oh and m
Book :: Heart Shaped Box
Well it took me far to long to finish this book. There has been so much going on lately that I just couldn’t devote the time I wanted to the book. I got through it though so what did I think? I don’t normaly read horrors as a genre but after this I think I will have to read a few more. Great book although the character build up in the beginning was a bit long but not unlike his dad (Stephen King) Jo Hill does a great job and build a great image for you of who these people are both in looks and spirit. So the main character is Judas Cloyne over the hill Metal Rock star, think Judas Priest, Ozzy etc. He’s used drugs, women and watches his bandmates die to early. He is a collector of the bizare morbid gothic objects including skulls, snuff films etc. So he buys a haunted suit and it turns out being haunted by the step father of a former groupie girlfriend. Anyhow the ghost Cradock is trying to kill Judas and his girlfriend Marybeth “Georgia” because he feels Judas is responsible for the death of his step-daughter Anna “Florida”. All his groupie women are named by him after the state they are from, guess just to show that he is rather a shallow rocker. The adventures leads him to the truth about Anna’s death and also helps bring to light his true love for Georgia. Anyhow it was a great read and the ending was particularly fun. This will be made into a movie but I’m not sure when they are looking at starting. It is being developed by the oscar nominated Neil Jordan who wrote the Crying Game and also wrote and directed Michael Collins. Anyhow looking forward to it.
Running Log :: Repeat
Well same run as yesterday, down Yonge St. from Drewry to the 401 and back. I managed to get to the 401 in 18 minutes so that was a good little run and about 20 minutes back. Was a great run. Legs a bit iffy still, need some new shoes. Have to see what they have at the running room I guess.
Running Log :: one run and two funerals

Well decided to get my run in on my lunch today. Headed out for the 401 from work (Drewry Avenu) along Yonge Street. Ran down to the 401 and as I turned to head back there was a funeral precession comming off the 401 onto Yonge Street with full Police Escort. Then around Sheppard aveune there was another procession with full police escort coming the other direction. Yonge Street was at a standstill both directions for the funerals to pass. Anyhow the run is around 8km and it took me 40 min with a few 1 minute walking intervals thrown in for good measure. Weather was awesome, nice little breaze and just bordering on the two hot…
Parc Gatineau :: What a long drive
Well I managed to get a head start on the weekend to Gatineau as I had to watch kids Friday. So we hit the open highway and had to stop almost right away with the first of four throwing up sessions for poor Airlie. We did eventually arrive and Airlie was still sick all night. The next day a 100% Airlie was ready to go with her sister and friends in toe. What a weekend, lots of kid things, exploring, walking, hiking etc. I’m absolutely wiped out! I also managed to get a 4 mile run in with a slight hangover Saturday morning. So here are some cool pics from the Parc Gatineau.
Funnel Cloud :: Might have become Tornado

Well on the news they say a funnel cloud around Vaughan might have become a tornado. I think I got a pic of it forming out my passenger window and yes I was driving… Anyhow traffic wan’t moving fast and at one point a little further down the highway I swear one was about to form just in front of me, I’ve never felt my car get blown around like that. I pulled over for a bit after that and waited before going again. The rain was so bad at times that I couldn’t see my hood.
The first pic is the one of the funnel cloud, it did get more defined as I was driving by but I’m using a camera phone from inside the car, it’s the best I could get.
Running Log :: Still Hot
Well I think I might have discovered another part to my sore legs, I’m just a stressed tight ass hahaha. I was noticing I’m just so not relaxed when I’m running sometimes, I’m all tight and so worried about getting hurt that I over compensate and don’t let my legs turn over naturaly. I really just let myself go after a couple miles and just let my legs do what they will and I’ve almost forgotten what that is like. I think I just get so focused on being fast, the next race, building up my mileage and so on that I just forget to relax. Like skydiving, “JUST RELAX”. So I did, what a run. Legs felt awesome. Did a 7 mile run in 58:03 for an average pace of 8:17 minute mile and that was with a little over 6 minutes of walking (1 min per mile plus I got some water). If I remover about 5 min as I am walking during the minute I’m looking around 7:34 min mile and I’m really not working overly hard. I really enjoyed my run today. Oh and again I was right near a deer crossing my path.
I thought it was hot out, are Torontonians Cold?

Molson is selling its’ Coors Light by pointing out it’s very cold, colder than Torontonians. Thanks for pointing this out Paul I thought it was hilarious. I remember when I lived there all they ever do is poke jabs Ontario and more specifically Toronto. I should mention, I’ve been to a Leafs game and a game in Buffalo and the Leafs game you would think the fans are dead, stiff or maybe just COLD!
