Well hard workout tonight. Worked hard core on the abs in the studio with skipping and curls in supersets with no rest for 35 minutes. Also did a leg workout. Spent all the energy I had. It felt great but I’m sure I’ll be paying for this workout in the morning. After the workout visited someone very cool and on the way home ran into Paul, my friend from Montreal who happened to be passing me on the QEW at the same time. How hillarious is that!

Workout :: yoga night
Well I can never get into the studio on yoga night to get my skipping ab workout in so I just did hardcore abs with weights. Anyhow tonights workout consisted of chest (incline and decline presses as well as pec ded), back (wide grip chins), shoulders (shoulder press and lateral raises), arms (tricep machine, dips, cable curls) and abs (weighted reverse crunch and lateral raises — superset including the dips and squates with front plate). Wow that looks like quite the runon sentence. Anyhow it was a great workout and finished off with a protein shake when I got home. Keeping this short, have to get up early again for Toronto in the morning (Oracle training).
Running Log :: The joy of writing that
Well today was my first long run day getting back into it. I really wasn’t sure what I would be able to do but I grabbed the GPS, packed Nyah and Tailem (my twin girls into the charriot and headed up Stonechurch towars upper Ottawa (from Upper Wellington). Was running a fairly good pace today and kept it up for the entire 45 minutes. I had to stop a few times for lights which I don’t have to do when I’m alone but with the girls have to be careful. Also had to stop to retie shoes. Anyhow what a beautiful day out today, glorious sunshine. Also my day was especially bright today so it was just that much sweeter! Anyhow for the stats, ran 5 miles in 45 minutes for an average pace of 9 minute miles. That isn’t bad at all considering it was hilly and I was pushing two girls.
Cardio :: lunch elliptical
Well went hard core on the elliptical this lunch. Did 60 min at level 9 for 1250 calories and 7.75 miles. I felt really burned out at the end.. Hit 100RPM a few times and held 103 RPM for about a minute once in there. Glad I got it done and Sunday will try for at least 1h 30 min.
Non Fat Cappuccino :: Locke St.
Well went and grabbed my Non Fat Cappuccino and mmmmmm it is ever good.. I walked there today in just my shirt and the sun is out. I am so excited that spring is upon us. This pic was taken with my new LG Rumor. I didn’t have unlimited text with the work phone and the text messages were killing me, last bill from work was about $100 in texts which represents about 22 text messages a day. That is just insane! I’m not usually that bad, was a strange month. Anyhow Just figured I’d show off the spring day on Locke Street.
OVER 10,000 HITS
Well I missed the occasion, it would have happened yesterday. I have now had over 10,000 views of my BLOG. It feels kind of nice knowing people come and check it out and I can also see Google search statistics so I see that some people use it to research some of the injuries I’ve had and how I recovered. I’ve also noticed some searched out my name, weather looking for me or someone else with my name. Some are looking for pics from races I’ve run. Whatever the reason it’s time to celebrate 10,000 hits! Looking forward to the 100,000 milestone!
Running Log :: and cardio
Well I’m slowly building the running back up and I mean slowly. I’m really not going to push my legs past the limit this time around. Get back up to a race distance without injury. Anyhow today I did 2.2 miles in 20 min for an average pace of 8:57 minute miles (nice and slow). Immediatly after the run I jumped on the elliptical for another 35 minutes at level 9. Very happy with my workout and well see how the legs feel tonight when I go do my crosstrain ab workout with the skipping rope.
Start running :: Boston by 40
Well this has been the hardest rest to date. I’m proud that I’ve been this responsible with my resting my leg but at the same time it’s really killing me. I’ve kept my cardio up for the first time durning a layoff to the levels that I would be able to run a half marathon tomorrow if I had to (cardio wise). I’ve kept my weight stable for a couple years now which is also an accomplishement considering how much I love food (now I just prepare healthier foods). With all that said I’ve started my slow integration back into the world of running. I’ve done two short runs in the last week and a half and today will try again for another 15-20 minutes. What ever I can tolerate till I start to fell the slitest tingle in my legs. After that I will jump on the elliptical and give that a go for the remainder of the hour. I’m documenting all of this so I can learn from this recover and see what it took to get me back runnign. Still have time to get to Boston before 40!
Cardio :: Elliptical 1 hour
Oh yeah baby. One hour elliptical session and when I woke up I had no energy, now solid! Did one hour elliptical for 1250 calories at level 9! Equivalent to 7.5 miles so I feel pretty pumped. Really wasn’t sure if my legs had recovered enough from the leg workout the other day. Tonight will be shoulders, arms, abs and some legs. I will run again tomorrow. See if I can go for between 15 and 20 min.
Cardio :: lunch — and RUNNING LOG
Well got into the gym for lunch and decided to get a little run in before the elliptical to test out the leg. Man my legs are very heavy from last nights workout. Anyhow did a nice easy pace for 10 min of running for 1.2 miles. Following that got onto the elliptical for 30 minutes at level 9 for about 550 calories. Feel great now and time to eat a bit of lunch. This evening workout, and maybe another 10 minutes running. Just have to see how the leg feels.
